Dominant Curve celebrates the pioneering vision of Claude Debussy and his ongoing influence on music today. Centered around Debussy's String Quartet, Dominant Curve includes four like-minded works created for Brooklyn Rider by Kojiro Umezaki (Japan), Dmitri Yanov-Yanovski (Uzbekistan), Justin Messina (an arrangement of John Cage's "In a Landscape") and Brooklyn Rider violinist, Colin Jacobsen.

A testament to the close collaborative spirit of the Silk Road Ensemble, this album of new works commissioned from four celebrated contemporary composers—Gabriela Lena Frank, Angel Lam, Evan Ziporyn and Osvaldo Golijov—features the playing of international stars Kayhan Kalhor, Wu Man, Cristina Pato and Wu Tong, among a dozen other members of the collegial musical collective.
